Do you believe? We do, and so do our friends at the South Devon Railway, which is why we are proud to be visiting an exciting, magical experience like no other. This Christmas, join us as THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride comes to South Devon Railway!

Here they theatrically re-create the 2004 motion picture for you and your family. Dive into the sights, sounds and intrigue of this classic children’s tale.

Prepare for a truly spectacular Christmas experience, surrounded by the magic and wonder of the season. In the distance, out in the cold night, to much excitement, you hear the familiar whistle of the steam train that is THE POLAR EXPRESS™!

The itinerary
A finalised itinerary is provided 2-4 weeks before travel, but here's an insight to give you an idea!
Pickup Points
Merthyr Tydfil College > Aberdare Sobell Centre > Mountain Ash Cynon Valley Bowls > Pontypridd Catherine Street > Cardiff Gate Services > Newport Train Station

Saturday
After your morning pickup we'll travel to Exmouth where you can enjoy some lunch ahead of your boat trip for Sail with Santa.

We'll then head to Torquay where you can check-in to your hotel room. Your evening meal is included at the hotel and you can also check out the magical Bay of Lights tour in Torquay which is free of charge!

Sunday
After breakfast we'll head for the main event - it's time for The Polar Express! You'll have some time before the journey to enjoy activities at the station such as writing letters to Santa, going through the naughty or nice scanner and more, before your magical 1 hour train journey.
We'll then head to Exeter where you'll have some free time to get some lunch and have a look around the shops and the Christmas Market, before travelling back to South Wales through the late afternoon/early evening.
Hampton by Hilton Torquay
Overlooking the English Riviera, this modern hotel is close to Torquay Marina with direct access to the Harbour and Princess Pier is half a mile away. The city centre is on your doorstep with a plethora of entertainment options available so the location is perfect to explore the town or take a walk along the Bay of Lights trail.

In your comfortable room you can expect tea & coffee making facilities, an iron/ironing board and a laptop size safe. Refresh in the bathroom with a full shower, fluffy towels, and shower amenities.
